Freestanding R.Hobbs washing machine RH814WM1W retail price £333. Currys Logik L814WM20 £200. both are 8KG load and both are 1400 spin and they are, other than the door design, the same Chinese made machines.

Considering I should imagine parts warehouses might well be finding things somewhat hard going due to Covid it is surprising to find that one very famous trade site has started doing R Hobbs washing machine spares which is of course good though why begs the question because I work on perhaps only 2 R H washing machines a year in other words there are not many around. What is even more surprising is the cost of some of the TRADE quoted price of some spares, so here we go as examples as of 06/12/2020. Motors £310.44. £440.94. £432.78. £325.59. Door seals £60.96. £94.83. Complete doors £163.14. £193.47 all plus VAT.
Question: why does that spares company quote the price it does when no one is going to buy them other than a complete fool? And if so why are they wasting money holding these parts in stock when times are rough? Is this some sort of Covid tax dodge perhaps? Or should it be a pink certificate, 2 written doctor reports and a trip off to somewhere safe with padded walls. Your guess is as good as mine.

some of the machines with this model number are made by vestel and a motor for the L814WM20 is only £55 on Aswo

Oops! Turkish Vestel. That is the problem with no rear view picture though I should have recognised them by the door seal. The run off of chosen horrific part prices I came across and did not indicate the prices of the R H model mentioned or that particular Logik in the first paragraph.

RH814WM1W continued tale of horrificness: heater £109.17, motor £440.94, belt £41.97, motor £325.59 and a pump £67.92. Trade prices. Someone is having a laugh or got it wrong.

They certainly look like the same machine. Why is the RH so expensive compared to the Logik – over £100 more! As for the spares costs, well they are just bonkers. It’s this kind of pricing that encourages people to throw away a repairable machine and is morally wrong in my mind. 🙁

Spot on. The trade is an utter disgrace. The answer to why is one more than the other is that there is no answer to your question, they just are, different importers. If you discount that one is a rip off and the other isn`t!! What is worse is when you get rebadged machines such as Lamonas which are rebadged Hoover / Candy ( as are some other R Hobbs offerings ) where the rebadged machine can easily suffer from a 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} increase if not much more in parts pricing. No wonder the public have lost faith though I always had every faith that I had no faith at all!

Most lamona products are made by beko and lamona are now offering a 3 year warranty on built in appliances where beko only offer 2 but there other brands bloomberg offer 3 year and 5 year on some products, plus beko make for smeg the freestanding washing machines and the American fridge freezers

very true some Lamonas are Beko products rebadged especially the ovens but since I have only to date seen the older stuff that are Hoover/Candy derived as washing or washer dryers. Have you got the Smeg and beko versions model numbers please as would be interesting to do a spares price comparison between two models.

Nope. As far as I can tell Beko seem to be different machines than Smeg.

Wht814 wht914 washing machines are smeg made by beko the smeg parts are more expensive due to the pcb being programmed for smeg, pick any 8 /9 kg beko 1400 spin

Yes you are spot on. Thanks for your excellent input. The latest RH`s are rebadged Hoovers as far as I can tell
