I’ve just had the main board repaired, putting it back in and I’ve got a plug with 2 red wires that I can’t see where it goes, unless I’m going blind , anyone have any ideas

only plug i can see with 2 red wires is for the direct injection pump

shows it placed between 2 other plugs. opposite test plug, there is one plug at the top, the one you have got should go between the next 2

Cheers Dave, I laid it on its side and found it,, next problem is it’s still dead, I’m wondering if it’s popped the power supply box ,, think I have a spare luckily

    power supply box ??

all mains power supplies are in the board you have changed

since this unit wont function without display board chech the display is plugged in securely to the centre connector, bottom og the main board

what was the fault with the board that needed fixing originally ?

I’m thinking the bit where the cable comes in, I’ll check all connections, it had f12 then went dead, I sent board off to a place I’ve used any time I’ve needed,, so I’m sure that’s ok,,

when i used to get faults like this, i would sent the board as a pair so they could be tested together

this could be a display board fault

Trying to take the top pub out, it seems to be attached to the programme knob, is it just pull or something else holding it ?

Hi Dave, found a replacement on eBay for £30, does that sound about right,, all the numbers the same, except serial number ( obviously that would be different ),, I’m getting ear hole treatment now as it’s in the kitchen,,

not sure which board you found on ebay but to work both machines would have to have the same model, commercial code and be in a similar serial range

When you buy a new hotpoint board they come unprogrammed and the software has to put onto it..

if you buy a board with different software it wont workd But emw may be able to re programme it

Only difference is it’s off a 8 kg, mines a 10 kg wash. Otherwise the same machine, I’m thinking as it only tells the module what to do, it should work ?
if it wasn’t for the fact it’s only 2 yrs old I would of scrapped it,,
do you have any idea roughly what they charge to re programme the board

    i suggest you ring EMW

tell them you are having problems and ask if you can send both boards back for them to test as a pair
    or
claim on the part warranty but you would have to pay Hotpoints call out and labour but parts would be free no matter how many are needed

you still cannot say the board would work, have had beko boards off identical machines that wont work because they talk to the front panel differently

expect something like £20 plus p&p to programme board but you need to ask if they can do it. you also need to ask if they have a full function test for your board because if they have not, they cant test it properly, so they cant be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain it will work
