went to this machine today which had a blown the module across the timer/ selector motor and option switch tracks. megged it and found motor and wash thermistor to have an earht fault. replaced module, motor and thermistor and megged it again all seem to be o.k. tested on wash all o.k. then i tried it on spin, it span up ok and then slowed down, the pump cutout and about 5 seconds later blow the board across the same tracks. re-megged the appliance which was again o.k. was thinking of replacing the tiimer, any suggestions would be appreciated

It’s not the pump frying after a while is it ?

As it’s double insulated it wouldn’t show up on a meggar (live/neutral to earth test).

    Just a thought

    Dave.

If the timer has a fault you will generally see burning across the tracks of the PCB sticking out of the timer. If it’s not burnt, it’s usually ok. We’ve had quite a few of these boards in for repair with blown tracks as a result of interlock shorts, especially the Mk3 WD10/12 (marked FULL0028 on the board). One advantage of using our services is that we would replace your blown board a second time for £4+vat (includes new eprom and postage) AND try and give you a pointer to the cause.
