KeymasterHi,
There could be a number of reasons for that happening, does the machine complete the cycle?

no the machine sticks just after the pre wash d and has to be moved manually to complete cycle

KeymasterLikely a timer or thermostat failure then, outside possibility of an electronic failure but I wouldn’t think so. But I’d be checking the stats long before I looked at the timer. 😉

Clearly a thermostat fault I reckon, two stats fitted on this model, both need changing or at least their plug-in connections inspecting?

A blocked drain filter will cause your machine to not drain the hot water in the first place and therefore cause the programme to stick prior to the rinses starting, yes !

It would certainly make it stick during the cycle but not the overheating issue I wouldn’t have thought.
Only one way to find out, stick it on a cycle…empty 😉

Participantthanks for your help lads!! Much appreciated
It was in fact the thermostats I bought them from e-spares for £35 and it did the trick.Saved me purchasing a new machine as the earache from my wife was tremendous especially as it kept shrinking her clothes.June 20, 2005 at 12:03 am #136529Penguin45

You paid how much?
Why the hell didn’t you contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com ? Not only do we have the technical resources, but we have the spare parts at sensible prices as well.
Oh well, too late now.

ParticipantBecause if you click washer parts – thermostats
you get an option of one thermostat.Should have e-mailed you but espares site was better set out and after trawling through different websites not knowing exactly the parts I needed I plumped for the most user friendly.I cant gauge how much things cost as these sites dont give prices unless you know the exact parts you want in the first place.
Was quite chuffed with myself until I read your mail but cheers anyway
In the future I will use your siteJune 21, 2005 at 11:27 pm #136531Penguin45

I suppose it’s a result for you Craig, next time, just ask – the Spares Legend, Mr Conway, may even reply in person 🙂 .
Quite seriously for the benefit of other readers, the whole spares thing has got so complex these days that we find it easier, more accurate and often quicker to answer your questions than to try and list every component that might be needed. Literally millions of the blighters.
