    Hey Everyone,

Long time reader first time poster unfortunately!

I have a Liebherr Freestanding Upright Freezer.

My Nephew helped himself to an ice cream over the Christmas break and left the door open. This has happened before. Slowly lost temperature so defrosted fully, dragged it inside the house in the warm for 72 hours and have just got round to plugging it back in.

Previously this worked but unfortunately since last night the freezer does not appear to be getting cold and a bottle of water inside is not freezing!

    Service Number: 9989224-2
    Model: 4113

The freezer has an analog control so no way to access a service menu to test things myself.

It sounds as though the compressor is running but it’s very quiet and as above is not getting cold.

Any advice, I have multimeters and other test equipment and not afraid to take things apart with the right schematics/directions but not sure where to begin?

    Thank You
    Veela

Your service number does not show any matches and the model number is incomplete without GN or similar in front of 4113 and an index number follows that, all this is needed to locate your unit.

    The sticker says the following:

    Service-Nr: 9989224-02
    Model: GN 4113 Index 20B / 001
    Serial-Nr: 28.114.107.2

Not sure if this is better, apologies was frantically googling as well!

Just a side thought, I plugged it in outside in the garage, could it be too cold to work? Saw that mentioned.

There is an Engineers service menu on your unit, but we are not permitted to allow use or distribution to anyone other than an authorized service provider, but I would take a look at the fan, as it does not take much ice around the fan to jam it up.
It is located in the roof evaporator coil and the defrost you gave it may not have been long enough, it could be a malfunction of other parts of course.

Is this where the 2 side lugs come out and that unit kind of drops down? Couldn’t see how to access it so I stopped before I caused any damage.

Could it be a case of the fan isn’t spinning because of another reason? Will try to defrost it further.
