    Hey Y’all
    Hotpoint Tumble Dryer
    CDN7000P UK
    Ind Code 95545674500
    Serial: 505126563

Similar problem to the topic posted earlier.

The Tumble dryer Temp Sensor just above the heater element has tripped twice in the last week.

Have reset it once again, by taking the back off and sticking a pin in the Sensor with the hole in the middle. ANd again it seems to be working again for now.

Just wondering if there is an underlying fault that I should be looking at, as to why the sensor keeps tripping?

Any suggestions for parts that may need replacing?
Any links to the correct part in the shop would be much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    E

    first check air flow

is the condensor clean. can you see light all the way through all the fins ?

if this is clear try changing the pair of stats

    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/1703200-tumble-dryer-thermostat-kit

these should be right but ask shop to confirm

    Hi Dave

Its funny you mention the condenser, as I had a heck of a job fitting it back after taking it out to clean it. It took me about 30 minutes to persuade it to go fully back into place.
So maybe it is a Condenser problem?

The Thermostat tripped once again today, so I’ve taken the Condenser out again, gave it another clean. did as best as I could to make sure the plates (or fins) arent touching, when you hold it up to the light you can see clearly through. There are like nipples on each plate that touches the plate above or below. But no crud.
I’ve re-set the thermostat, and it appears to be working again… for now.

    Thanks for your advise.

With Regards to the Condenser. You cant actually see the fins as it were on that model. You can see the plates of metal that enclose the fins, but the fins are fully enclosed as far as I can see.
The plates look in good condition. the odd dent on the edge, but other than they seem ok.
The Thermostat has tripped 3 times now. each time I reset it, and it works for up to a week, and then trips again.

I’ll buy the Stat kit anyway. for what it costs, its probably worth doing.
It’s a start. See if it still trips.

    Thanks

    Hey Dave.
    Thanks again for your advice.

The Thermostat tripped again this morning.

Util the new stats come, what I think I’ll do is to drill a small 5mm hole in the back of the Dryer case, just behind the Stats, so that when it pops, I can just push a pin straight in without keep taking the back off.
Obviously , turning the power off first.

    Thanks

if you drill a hole you will get hot moist air coming out of it causing condensation

If I get tripping of stat more than once I change the heater you are eliminating that as a fault then, if it trips with new heater it will definitely will be air flow probably condenser blocked internally if you can’t clear it change it

    Hey Kaibart & Dave

I hadn’t thought about the Condensation. Good point, thanks Dave.
Thanks to Kaibart for the fault tracing. I havent disregarded the Heater, but the Thermostat is the cheapest option, plus, as I’ve already ordered it, I might as well give it a try.
The problem becomes that, by the time I’ve replaced the thermostat, the Heater and the condenser, I’ve pretty much bought a new Tumble Dryer!:D

    Hi All

Day 3 with new Thermostats in, and so far they havent tripped out!

So Although I wouldn’t say that its sorted, it’s looking pretty good.

So I’d like to thank Electrofix Dave, and Kaibart for their valuable advice.

    Regards

    Simon
