Hi there.
So last night while cooking dinner, my brother had both ovens on (we rarely use the right hand side one). I wasn’t there but it seems as though the circuit got a little overloaded and the ovens started cutting out. Switched both off, and turned the left side back on. The fan would start and the light would come on for about 2 to 4 seconds and then cut out. We tried this a few times with same results. Turned it off at mains, back on. Same thing would happen. We decided to turn it all off, let it come down in temperture.
This morning, we tried turning on the oven, the grill and the right hand oven (seperately) and nothing. No lights, noises or any sign of feedback. Making me think it’s a loose wire from mains. We turned to the internet and found this site after a couple of hours and I am hoping for some possible diagnostic options.
I don’t think it’s any particular elements/fans/etc. We live in a part of rural Scotland so callouts and engineers are few and far between, and with previous experiences, the callouts usually are from 100 miles away. Mice chewing wires is a pretty big possibility too, and with it being colder, I can’t blame them if they aimed for a warm cooker to nest. I have also found the manual with wiring diagrams but I’m not an electrician and I’m not completely convinced that’s where the issue is. And in my hours of searching, I read somewhere about Range fault codes and am wondering if a diagnostic tool is out there that could narrow things down.
So many unanswerable questions and hoping some may be able to answered here!
Thank you from The Country Bumpkins

ParticipantDon’t believe so. There’s no clock to be sure, just the ovens and there’s no response from lights or fan.

Moderatorwell the first thing is to make sure there is a supply both live and neutral.
its the first thing you need to check before you even think of the cooker itself
had that fault last week, dead oven and it was the wall switch that had gone faulty

ParticipantThat’s the plan today! Checking the main inputs for looseness and the like. Just wondering if there’s something else, like a internal fuse or similar.

ModeratorNever seen one and have not got tech but normally if they fit safety devices they normally don’t affect everything
