This machine is not long out of guarantee, so I’ve not seen one like it before…..

It locks the door but then just shows “all” the available symbols on the display and I can’t select any settings….. tried pressing the child lock option but nothing, pressed the display buttons for every function but still nothing – no obvious clicks or noises coming from the machine

    Any ideas please?

aha, so the main pcb needs to be programmed by a Hoover engineer?

I did a part number enquiry with Connect……. they claim the main pcb (49042680) is programmed ready to go…… Do you think thats correct or not ??!?

I really dont want to order the pcb, wait 3-4 weeks then find out it needs to be programmed by Hoover!! Is it worth the risk?

problem for me is which board is causing this

the main power board 49042680 yes its programmed. £110 from hoover
    https://shop.hoover.co.uk/gb_en/2/spare-parts/500010/programmed-3ph-gen2-3-control-board-16515.html

or the display board 43022753, which connect have in stock so they have a call for it

assume you have tried removing and replacing the cable between the 2 boards

I would not put a pcb on it as you have said its special order let hoover deal with it these machines are a absolute nightmare to work on ive changed a tub on 1 was there a good 2 hours because of the design, plus I ordered a facia for a hoover washing machine and its taken 8 weeks to come so not worth the bother in my eyes let hoover deal with it.

well I certainly don’t like spending money on parts without being 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure what is really, so Dave is right… it could be the display pcb at fault perhaps (did unplug cables)…….. SO with all that advice, I think its best if Hoover take over!!! Thanks very much
