Hi I’ve got a problem with a built in dishwasher where I changed the door springs with the mod kit. Now the door pops open enough to stop the wash. Don’t know if the springs to strong or door hinge got damaged when first spring broke. Has anyone else had this and know the cause. Thanks.

    most likely hinges are bent

door has been dropped when springs went

If I remember rightly the later Bosch dishwashers have been known to have a lot of issues with the hinge bearings breaking (not seen it myself but remember reading about it on here) so it may be worth checking those as well otherwise I agree with Dave that it will be bent hinges.

Thanks. I was hoping for a miracle cure!!!!

I suspect the hinges only reason I asked was because I remember reading about different strength springs which are colour coded. I’m going out to it later might try and modify the hinge with Percy sledge and take a closer look at hinge bearing. I’ll let you know how I go. Thanks for you advice.

Went out, couldn’t find anything obvious. I changed the door catch as I felt the a new catch might be stronger to hold it shut. I tried pulling at the door and it didn’t stop the machine.
So it’s a suck it and see job. All good when I left and I’ve not had a call back since. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed, but if you do have to go back it’s worth checking the inner door skin hasn’t bent at the hinge points as I’ve had that a few times. Tell tale sign is small dimples in the metal where the hinges finish in the door. Check with a long straight edge.
