Hi all. I removed and dismantled the dishwasher as every time it would be turned on it tripped the fuse box. I found that the waste pipe had been installed less than ideally by the old owner, and had been crushed and split slightly. That then trickled water down the pipe and I expect was shorting to the case. I’ve dried everything out and now no short! Unfortunately, when I turn on the dishwasher i just get an electronic buzz and nothing happens…. Except for some smoke and a burning electronics smell. It comes from the pump and either the main pump or what looks like a solenoid on the side. I’ve taken a video and will try to upload it to this. Given the dishwasher has been on it side, etc is it likely to be something stopping that, or has the pump gone? Is there anyway to just test the pump outside of the dishwasher? Thanks in advance.

looks like a standard pump assembly

could your solenoid be the start capacitor as they do fail

also if you want to add video or photo’s you will need to host them on another site and post a public link

Thanks Dave, the solenoid looking thing is absolutely the start capacitor. I’ll take it out and test it tomorrow.

I think the pump as a whole is a Arcelik 1758400800 the same as a Beko D3421FS

I’ll try to find a website to host the video (any ideas?).
