Hi the most important appliance in the house is not doing what it’s meant to i.e cooling!!!!

The other day it started making a louder noise than usual background noise. I suspected the fan as my PC had a similar situation and it turned out the fan/motor was covered in dust. I disconnected the fan and it was fine.
The compressor is working, the fan is working but the temperature is only just cooling to about 12 degrees not the usual 5

    any suggestions

    thanks

Remove back panel in cooler and disconnect fan, turn on and check frosting of coil, if not fully frosting, then gas leak or weak compressor, had plenty of the single door slim line units leak gas on the coil connection joints.

    Hi Tony
I have disconnected the fans and it all seems to be working OK except for the compressor is so loud when it’s bringing the temp down.

    you couldn’t live with it

I guess this is not a serviceable item?

    thanks
