I have an issue with the above washer dryer. It was faulty when purchased secondhand last year and needed a new dryer module. This was ordered from Bosch and fitted – machine worked perfectly.
However, in the last couple of weeks I’ve had a strange issue where the washing cycle sometimes stops mid- way through and the dryer fan starts by itself! Sometimes the fan even runs on after the door is opened, although this doesn’t happen every time.
This is an intermittent fault – sometimes occurs near the start of the cycle, sometimes doesn’t occur at all. As the fan is driven by the drying module I’m inclined to believe the new drying module has developed a fault. Bosch won’t accept a warranty claim unless it’s inspected by a Bosch engineer first – which I’d have to pay for if the fault ends up being something else.
Can anyone advise as to why the fan may be overrunning and/or starting at uncommanded points? There is also a main controller behind the selector dial so not sure if the actual command comes from there, and the dryer module just does as it’s told? Any experience/advice appreciated

not a fault i have had so dont know a reason
i think the dryer board is a slave to the main board
have you tried removing the data connections beween the 2 boards and replacing them to clean the contacts

Thanks for the response. No I haven’t tried that – I certainly can do. Is there an easy way to identify the data connections on the connector? If not I’ll just remove and replace all of them on both boards (main and dryer module). if the dryer module is just a slave then it’s more likely to be an issue with the main board or the comms I suppose. Hi, I’m struggling to remember, but I’m pretty sure it was a poor connection between the two boards. I think there’s a white connector for power and data. that wasn’t making a good connection. Removed, cleaned the contacts, refitted and it’s been fine since. I think there was an option for “programmed” as well if you ordered boards direct from Bosch. Sorry I can’t give more detail, but I’m pretty sure it was just poor connections. Good luck
I’ve also hit this issue- and foolish me didn’t realise that the modules are at the bottom of the machine so have had two failed attempts at fixing this… I’ve unplugged and plugged in the joining cable at the dryer module and washer module end a few times each and will update if the problem has stopped. Thanks for the hints.
I’ve also cleaned out the crud that accumulates at the edge of the drum inside- had to remove the door seal but got two handfuls of muck out that I think have been causing a squeak. I suspect this is common with washer dryers.
