    How can I work out the age of my LEC Refrigerator and my Frigidaire Freezer? Thanks.

    You need to post up the model and serial numbers of both appliances.

    The Lec Model L987WG Serial 4C 002096 and Frigidaire all I can find is VD0403A18820 on the side and on the motor TW1358YS TW130KS215 693597 F0602 hope that helps.

    Lec use the first two digits of the serial number as its production period, although it has been a long time since I was a service provider for them (1978) the 4 relates to the year and the C is the third quarter of that year, so yours will have been made in a year ending with a 4 between July, August and September.

    Lec is about 2004 from memory so Tony is spot on.

    The Frigidaire details will; be found on a label behind one of the freezer bins, usually either top or bottom. If it’s a chest freezer look around the rear.
