Our ISE10 machine has been going strong for 13 years but has developed an issue. It starts to fill the machine with water then stops. The only way to extract the washing is then to use the emergency door opening.

We were advised when we previously had the machine repaired (heating element) under warranty that it is a decent machine as many of the parts were generic and could easily be replaced.

I did contact the same local appliance repairer who were willing to look at it until I mentioned ISE10. They then stated that due to the age of the machine and the difficulty in sourcing parts that a repair would not be possible.

I just wonder if we should ditch the machine (13 years is a good stint) but in the other hand it seems such a solid machine?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

These are well built machines so worth at least investigating further. There is a test programme accessed by first of all doing a reset by holding the Start/Stop button in while switching on the power button, then holding in the temp button until all the LEDs are lit, then press Start/Stop to initiate test. The test programme is in two stages and might help diagnose if it is a sensor (eg thermistor, level system) which would be straightforward to replace. The details of the test programme are in the service manual for the Asko WM25 machine – in manualslib.com – there is a link in a recent post

I believe most parts are still available from the UKWhitegoods shop.
