Hello – I wonder has anyone come across a new washing machine that functions under low water pressure. Recognising machine programs are controlled electronically now rather than the older mechanical timers – I fitted a Beko 7kg and it will go through the quick wash but not a 60-degree cotton wash ) I am thinking there are likely 4 rinses on the cotton wash and less on the quick. Any recommendations would be gratefully received — many thanks Declan

it has nothing to do with the number of rinses

the machine expects to fill at a certain rate. if the correct level is not achieved within a given time the machines computer decides it may be leaking and aborts the programme

Hi Dave – I understand the computer is time-based but why would it complete the quick wash including the rinses but not the cotton wash – Declan?

quick wash is designed for lower loads so may take less water

not sure if this is still true

the old machines used to have a hot and cold valve. the hot valve had to work on lower pressures as a lot of houses had pressure from the loft storage tank. the only difference between the 2 valve was a pressure control device on the entrance to the valve. It wasnt so much of a pressure device but more of a volume reduction device. it consisted of a rubber washer that would close over more and more if the flow increased

take the inlet hose off your machine, carefully remove the water filter from the valve entrance. look behind this valve and see if there is a rubber washer. If yes remove it and replace filter and try it
