Hi, just trying to establish what most folks do after the above scenario.

    History:
Machine decided to stop spinning from power-on. Worked great previously. No trauma signs or smells etc. Opened it up, removed motor Module. One brush was heavily worn and not bright at the end. So replaced, metered continuity now all good. Thermo switch fine, coils all measure fine.

Have read earlier models suffering this fate often took out inline fuse on Controller pcb, and or relay. Don’t know about this model however.

Logic dictates looking at the controller next, which I have hinged open on the machine presently. But wanted advice from anyone who’s been through similar.
Or schematics cct diagrams etc of that Controller itself. It’s an EDPL162-B.

Machines in otherwise great condition, zero leaks, pumps out water fine.
    Any help appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance. Paul.

its likley Miele have fitted a fuse on the board

the early ones are a T6.3A wire ended fuse

Hi Dave, appreciate the reply. I’ve previously got the T6.3 fuse details with thanks.

Looking to hopefully expand a little on that “Hope” and also looking to garner details of the models before and after this one wishing to know if any cross compatibility exists controller wise. (With the poss salvaging option from another Controller). Or at least establish if that’s “Do-able”. Can’t find any working examples of my specific EDPL162-B boards atm.

Does anyone know why/how one worn brush results in this fuse blowing (If that turns out to be the case)? Seems an intriguing fault process, albeit proven frequently to be the case on numerous earlier models.

    Cheers Paul.

its not brushes that cause the fuse to go on earlier model at least not always

common problem is its caused by badly worn dampers. got 2 to do on monday
