    HI,

    I have a 20+yr old ASKO Quattro W600 machine.
For awhile now the main spin cycle (5) hasn’t been getting as much water out of the clothes as before so it must have issues.
I suspect he main quickwash programme i use (7) is sometimes slipping as it seems to complete very quickly at times
and now i am noticing the drum is making some odd rattly noises.

Hmmmm …. does this sound like i can fix it myself or is ‘time up’.
Until this point it hasnt needed a thing doing and has been a reliable beast – having looked at other new machine options (Miele – very bad reviews) and the ‘modern’ Asko version (poor reviews / yucky digital panels, expensive, etc) .. I will be so sad to have to let this one go.
I didnt realise what a ‘find’ it was all those years ago.

    Thanks for any help

unfortunatly the build quality of most machines had degraded over time. there are still lots of 20 year old hotpoints about but the modern ones struggle to reach 7

Sadly there isn’t anything that would compare to your Asko.

The best of the bunch is still the Miele range but even they have succumbed to price point pressure and as a result the products are not what they once were.
We all have our own opinions on this subject 😉

For me as a retailer of over fifty years, I still like the Beko for budget end, Bosch for mid range and Miele at the top end.

Whatever you end up with expect a much shorter lifespan. Miele may be the way to go if you buy a model with a 10 year warranty which will be top end at least you know you will get ten years out of it.
