    Hi have a problem with my Smeg oven that the light stays on at all times. Question is there a door microswitch if so where is it and how do I get to it?? If no microswitch is there some other method ie thermostat that operates the light or maybe with the oven motor. I have looked for a wiring diagram for this oven but was unable to find one. I have found a microswitch Cooker Door Microswitch
    Stock Number: ES1540944 but can’t see a way to get at it or even if it is there??

    have not checked but a lot of oven lamps are controlled by the selecter switch

    have you had a lamp blow or did anything happen to cause this ?

    Hi thanks electrofix, sorry this is even when the selector switch is in the off position
    No old cooker now but lamp has never been changed

    oh i realise its still on in the off position but a 1 contact on the switch controls the lamp usually

    the switch is this one

    you need to inspect it for bad or damaged contacts

    Understand, I will take a look and see if the switch contacts have gone short circuit
