    Hi Folks,

Hoping to get some advice before I delve into my dishwasher, Im quite a competent repairer of “things”, but only fixed a few white goods appliances.

Anyway, I have a WFB 2B19 UK (whirlpool / hotpoint), which has experienced 2 faults recently:

    1) Most commonly, the machine will decide to “pause” itself during a cycle. There are no beeps, and the Pause/Start button flashes just like it does when paused. If you press the button, the cycle resumes and finishes just fine. It happens on different programs, usually early on, before or just after the tablet ejects. Sometimes it doesnt do this for a day or so at all, its quite intermittent. The door seems to latch fine

    2) This has only happened once, but the machine did stop and error during a cycle, at a guess around 1 hour in. The machine emitted a series of beeps – 3 lots of 2 beeps if I remember correct.

Im having trouble finding any service data, or fault code definitions for this model. It doesnt have an LCD like my last hotpoint did, and the information online doesnt seem to describe the beeps I heard.

Can anyone help with where I might find or buy such information? The manual is pretty useless and a search online hasnt yielded much.

My last hotpoint machine had a problem with a dry solder joint on the control board (on a relay, forget which now). I understand such solder problems are common on my machine too, so failing any better ideas I might get the boards out and look for dry joints to reflow.

    Best Wishes

Sorry, It is WFE 2B19 UK , I have no idea why I wrote WFB several times when I knew it was WFE…

Here is a link to a pic of the model plate anyway, incase it has anything relevant: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1x2HDG–aBcVV3uD09tdKxu5SNVz9fUv6/view?usp=sharing I tried to upload but said the quota had no space.

    Thanks

the fault codes on those machines are shown by 4 lights

the 3 light that show where you are in the programme wash , rinse and end or the like plus the start button which acts as light 4

need to see what lights are on and off when it fails

Apologies for the very late reply. Its been a while since this has happened now, but the first fault (self pause) is happening again. I had taken the main PCB out of this one and reflowed the solder joints on the relays, simply because my last hotpoint had issues due to poor soldering. After doing this neither of the 2 faults I mentioned happened for about 3 months. Now fault 1) ( machine pausing itself) is happening again.

Regarding lights , there are NO changes to any of the lights on the display when this happens. Whatever program light was on before remains on, no others come on. The machine beeps once, and the “start” button flashes, just the same as if you had pressed “start” to pause it. Or, if the door was opened. This happens after the prewash, and when the machine has refilled and ejected the tablet. Sometimes the water has been heated, other times its just before the water has heated….If you press start the machine carries on completes the cycle just fine and with hot water. And sometimes it doesnt happen at all.

Should I be looking at the door catch sensor? Any other ideas what to check?

    Thanks
    Adam
