ParticipantHello,
I’ve had the above Combi / Microwave for around 7 years.
Over the last years it’s operation has got very intermittent. When using the grill or oven function, it will stop working and the display will go blank. After a few minutes it comes back on again. This part of the device is no longer worth using.
The microwave operation is more reliable, however that too will occasionally stop working with similar symptoms especially if in operation for longer than 10 minutes. The microwave also makes a quiet squeak/beep noise after the microwave has been in use which lasts for around 30 seconds. In the past we have had the inverter and magnetron replaced when the microwave stopped working.
Bearing in mind it has issues with grill, oven and microwave, what components in the oven could cause an issue with all three?
Thanks in advance for any help received,
Nick

Moderatorthink i would check cooling fans as it sounds like it may be overheating and cutting out

ParticipantThanks Dave. I’ll check that over the weekend and post back with the results.

ParticipantA further update on this case:
I removed the covers at the weekend and can confirm the fans are working fine. I checked the large barrel / radial fan at the rear of the oven, and also the oven fan itself. I also checked over the connectors on the boards and reseated them where possible.
The problem still persists. When using it today the device operates for several minutes and then the oven light starts flickering, and you can also hear power to the fans stuttering as well. Eventually the whole device switches off including the control panel. It will come back to life after a couple of minutes. The problem does sound heat or dry joint related….April 27, 2021 at 2:22 pm #476448electrofix

ParticipantDave,
thanks for the tip, you were correct. I connected the oven to a different power source, and it worked fine. I replaced the socket and all is good so far. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
