    Evening All,
Had an enquiry from a customer this evening. Door locks then eventually times out with error No Water…. Looking for advice on PCB repair for this.
I read a post from a forum member AJC_Dave where EMW sent reconditioned PCB, and then had motor problems. Anyone managed to successfully repair the PCB with this fault?

    Doug.

Think I’ve only seen one showing this error before years ago, I cannot remember the outcome..

Cannot find any low insulation…more info from the customer, the machine will sometimes start. Have found bad cap 470pf 10v on C6.
Can that cause the no water, won’t start symptoms?

    is that pF or uF

if its uF can do as it was a problem on older hotpoints. when it goes you get lots of AC ripple on DC power supply lines. And the chips hate it

Hi Dave, it’s uF…… I have new 470uf 10v capacitors on order from RS. Am I right in thinking it would be safe to use say a 470uf 16v capacitor if I haven’t got the exact same?

Looks like CC054744 version uses one of the later evo2 triphase boards. I keep new replacements in stock and have never got round to investigating faults on any of the old ones. I recently cleared out my faulty WMA and EVO boards along with the test machines so have nothing to play with.

Just a guess – Assuming pump & motor circuits work I would check for continuity between J1 pin 2 and MT1 on the valve triacs.

Settled for a refurb board from EMW, can only get away with experiments for so long…. One observation is that of the two boards I have ordered from EMW, only one relay on each board had been reworked, probably the best odds for reliable boards that are still functional.

Thanks again guys for the advice. That’s one out of three boards I’ve managed to repaired myself.

Was that relay K2, K7 or another one?

Murv, it was K2 on the Evo2 WDD960G.
