Good evening all,
Wondering if anyone can suggest where to start (or refer to Siemens!) for a fault a customer has reported on their microwave on the above built in appliance?
She has phoned to report that when the microwave is set and started, it runs for around two seconds before aborting…
I asked if the clock/timer was affected, which she didn’t know but following a reset the microwave repeats the above fault.
I’m inexperienced/don’t do many microwave oven repairs, and would be grateful of some advice.

Hi,
the most likely cause is the Magnetron and inverter. Remove the magnetron and inspect for any damage, cracked magnets or burnt antenna. Also highly likely a fault on the inverter board.
