Hi all, need some advice. We have a Cooke & Lewis under counter double oven. It’s rubbish and I want to replace with a decent single oven. However it’ll leave a substantial gap. I was thinking I could possibly fit a proving drawer above the oven, in the gap left. Has anyone done this before?

I don’t normally give technical advice on the public forums but what you need my friend is a carpenter or at least someone capable of cutting a piece of wood to cover the cavity left by the single oven.
You may be able to buy a single kitchen cabinet unit from B&Q and adapt it to fill the gap!

    ¡Buen suerte amigo!

Don’t see how you can as your built under double is 72cm tall. If you install a single oven at 60cm tall it will need to be above the unit plinth line so the door does not catch the floor. You will need a shelf fitted for the oven to sit on which will make to top of the oven just under worktop height.

The shortest drawer I know of is 14cm tall I would not fancy it above the oven anyway as it will get to hot. Putting it under a single oven will mean the user has to get on the floor to use it!!

You normally see these installed in tower units under the oven.

Just remember to consult installation instructions as if it’s installed incorrectly it could invalidate your guarantee.
