Has anyone successfully repaired a pin hole inside the dishwasher in the stainless next to the salt cap?

no but most of that area has a seal covering it. I would drop softener, clean it well, cover it in Debor and put it back together and let it set

its not so bad with a dishwasher as if it fails all it will do is trip flood protection if it has it, as most do
