I have had a Henry in the past which I was happy with, but when it broke I replaced it with a Miele six months ago.
While vacuuming the stairs, it took a tumble and the top part broke off. (Its a c1 Junior Powerline or something like that- can’t remember off hand). I contacted Amazon, where i bought it, and they said because it was accidental damage, the warranty won’t cover it.
I would have assumed a Miele vacuum cleaner would handle a fall down stairs- stairs are supposed to be vacuumed, aren’t they? But apparently its not.
so what I want to know is
a. Can it be repaired, and if yes how much approximately would it cost me
b. If not, what do I replace it with?As you can guess, I am very frustrated with the whole topic and just need a reliable vacuum cleaner!
My first thought was why replace a Henry with a Miele?
That aside no guarantee covers accidental damage that’s something for your household contents policy. You need to take the machine to a local dealer for an estimate as body parts are not cheap especially Miele. You could also try the “nice” approach to Miele direct to see if they can help in any way.
Had the Henry fallen down the stairs it would have been cheaper to repair if it had even broken at all!!
Get another Henry is my advice they are still the best cylinders out there.

I was under the impression that Miele’s are better than Henry’s but clearly I was mistaken…
Going to try with Miele, see if I get anywhere. Otherwise its back to the good old Henry’s…Will contact a local repairman although i’ve no idea where to start with finding one!

Oh, sad, Last year my pond vacuum has also broken accidently. Then I used a shop vac in a pond vac.
A Tip: While you can buy a pond vacuum intended for cleaning pond debris, no need for the extra expense. and extra bulk in storage. if you already have a wet-dry vacuum in your home. When the bag is removed from a canister, you can safely use it to vacuum water.Mod edit : Have removed your unauthorised advert.

I have had both and can confirm Miele are much better.
But you can’t expect it to handle drop down stairs.sorry for the loss of your vacuum cleaner. Many times it happens but mines build quality is good. I have a dyson vacuum cleaner that i bought last year it still works great. If you are looking for quality vacuum cleaner then i would suggest you look at robot cleaners.

Donvacuum cleaner that are smaller in size are more in convenient to use as they use less space and clean small area that are hard to reach.
