ParticipantHello
I have a issue with my John Lewis frost free free fridge freezer – Model no – JLFFW2001The issue is that after a while the fridge stops cooling. From the temp it should be the temp can rise to room temputure etc.
to fix this issue, i have to switch it off and then remove the food draws in the freezer.
Then i will open the top part of the freezer where the cooling matrix is.the matrix has ice frozen on it and the fan that circulates the air to cool the fridge cannot do that, as the ice has blocked the two ports which push cold air to the friudge section above.
The fan that pushes the air is working ok and i can hear it run.
So, after i have removed the ice the fridge will keep a steady temp for a few weeks – this really depends on how many times the fridge door has been opened and closed etc.
Any help would be so much appreciated.
Thank you

UPDATE
yesterday i had to defrost the fridge. i switched it off and open the freezer section to then use a hair dryer to defrost the ice that had collected.
I also took the time to test the following items that i thought could have been faulty.
The heater was tested – there was continuity across the points so that was a good sign.
The temp sensor was tested too – it showed a reading of 5.1kohms at normal. i then placed the sensor in to a glass of iced water. the resistance incresed to about 10k
the fridge freezer over heat protection was tested. I have two sensors and both showed continuity. So, please give me your feed back if you can on the results above. I am not sure what else i can try next?
The fridge section and freezer section are working fine at the momenty. but this lasts for about 2 or 3 weeks before it starts to warm up the fridge. Obviously, the more the doors are opened the quicker there will be ice build up. so this fridge is just a spare fridge for cooling beer in.
Thanks for your help.

Moderatorsensor should be 8700 ohm at 0 degrees and 5348 ohms at 10 degrees
take a really good look at the door seals as if they are not in contact all the way round moist air can get in

Hi Dave. Thank you for your reply. The door seals are really good and not letting in any warm air etc.
I have had the fridge running since yesterday and its at a steady 4 degrees C…. but i know as soon as i start to open it etc over 2 or 3 weeks (or sooner) i will get frost build up.
Thanks
