ParticipantI have an approx 6 yr old Miele. Over the weekend the fridge started alarming – nothing is being kept cold. The freezer element appears to be still working as food is still frozen.
Engineers dont seem to want to touch Miele and one said is likely to be the sensor – but he did kindly inform me that Liebherr actually make these items.
Is it worth me trying part number 9590206 from here?
Thanks in advance

ParticipantHi, the index number will help identify the exact model as there are about 15 versions of a KFN12924Sd
Part 9590206 is compatable with 3 of your sensors but not the 4th which is the fridge evaporator sensor which is foamed in and requires the right sensor kit and is not easily replaced without training.July 7, 2021 at 4:23 pm #477807rebekahbed
ParticipantThank you
Where will I find the index number?

ParticipantIt is found on the label, directly after the model number, something like 164-20A

ParticipantAn overly iced up freezer can cause the fridge to loose temperature, as there is no high temperature alarm for the fridge, it must be the freezer not at the right temperature despite things still being frozen, check for any frost or ice on the rear wall of the freezer all drawers will need removing for a good inspection, if that is the case a good long 2-4 days or longer will be required to allow it to defrost fully, this can be caused by the door not being fully shut, 2mm open and the door open alarm will not sound, if not iced up, yes sensor in fridge as already advised or malfunction of the solenoid valve.

ParticipantWithout knowing why your fridge is not cooling and why the freezer high temperature alarm sounds, just replacing one of the four sensors is unlikely to fix your issue, I still believe your issue is as mentioned in my previous comment.
The main sensor in the fridge that opens the valve and brings the compressor on, if not already running for the freezer is the evaporator sensor, which is not a 9590206 and is foamed in, a kit is supplied, but as I mentioned it is not easy to replace with out training. -
