    Hi
    I got given a used washing machine a few years ago and am trying to find out how old it is, as a part has gone and I’m wondering whether it’s worth trying to repair or if it’s an age where it’s just better upgrading if other parts will start to fail, I found a thread that explained how to work it out from a 9-digit serial number but mine has 8 digits: 38115296, and it’s a Hotpoint Aquarius WF000P…how can I work out its age please?

    I think Feb 05

    old serials used to used date codes that changed every month. since date code 34 is Oct 2004 then 38 must be feb 2005

    How do I find out the age please?

    I would make that April 2004
