Participantgreetings from Canada (where euroepean style appliances are still scarce and so it is hard to find repair advice)
we have a Blomberg clothers washer model WM77110NBL01
the other day the cycle timer stopped ticking down. on the normal wash cycle, it takes in water but the timer just sits there, at for example 00:52.
There is no error or fault codeThinking about it it sounds like that might be the water level sensor – the machine not registering that it has enough water. ( but that doesn’t make sense. If the water level sensor was bad presumably the machine would just keep filling with water, which it does not do)
though if the water sensor has two functions (1. to stop taking in water and 2. to tell the machine that it has enough water and to start running) then it is possible that Function 2 has failed.
Any ideas?

KeymasterThe sensor will have both functions, level and overfill I’d think.
But could be the heater also, worth checking.
There’s hardly any info anywhere for that model though, including on the factory system for the EU.

Participanthere’s an update.
since the connector plug required for this unit (NEMA 6-15) is unusual and so hard to find here in NOrth America, it took some time to find one so I could put tgether an extension cord for bench testing this unit.
So it went into storage for 5 months.
today I took it out to test.
wanting to test whether the water temperature sensor might be the problem (and water was not getting up to a hot enough temperature) I ran the first test cycle on COLD.
and, the cycle ran smoothly, to the finish.
Thinking AhHah! it must be water temperature, I then ran a WARM cycle. and the cycle failed. the unit filled with water but then the timer did not count down.
thinking AhAH! that confirms it, I ran a 3rd cycle on COLD again (assuming it would run). But that cycle failed.
as did another COLD cycle.so to recap, the first test cycle – on COLD – after being in storage ran successfully.
but all subsequent cycles – whether on COLD or WARM – failed.does that make any sense?

Participantif I run a COLD cycle, does the heater come into play at all?

ParticipantSounds more like one half of the solenoid valve has failed to me. So you would have one valve but 2 solenoids…is that right? What might be happening is the valve fills then switches over to other solenoid to continue the filling process but that solenoid does not open ( work ) to let the machine reach the correct level to be sensed by the pressure switch to advance to turn on the heater. So you want to check both solenoid for resistance if you have a multimeter set it to 2000k and your reading should be around 004 for each coil ( based on uk 220/240 mains voltage ). Blomberg / Beko ( its really a Beko ) valves commonly fail either by the solenoid coils going open circuit OR they do not go open circuit they just do not open for another reason say, mechanically failed.
