ParticipantJust posting this fix incase useful for others.
Machine would not start any program and the doorlock symbol would flash several times accompanied by audible beep (doorlock symbol is a circle with a padlock overlapping it to top right, see photo attached / below). Fault troubleshooting for this issue in manual states water level is too high in system and to run drain program. This can’t be done as the system is seeing an issue with the door and wont start drain sequence. I manually drained system to rule this out but it did not resolve the problem. The door lock normally has an audible click/clunk when a program is started which was missing when fault presented. During the fault, when attempting to start a program you can hear the relays trying to throw the interlock solenoid, but not the usual solenoid clunk.
Replaced the door interlock (Bosch part number 00638259) and machine runs normally.
Found this how-to on youtube useful. Despite not being the same machine the replacement procedure is exactly the same.
Uk Whitegoods supplied the genuine OEM part for the best price I seen in my quick search for this and the guys were very helpful in getting this to me extremely quickly.
My machine is under warranty but Bosch advised they couldn’t mobilise a technician to investigate for at least 1 week which was far too long for us without a working machine. They also advised I would invalidate the warranty if fitting myself but not sure they’ll be able to tell as it’s a fairly non-intrusive repair using a genuine part. Think it’s a bit poor they jumped straight to the invalidation clause given I only undertook this repair due to their own lengthy wait times.

Moderatorits standard policy to stop the warranty if machine is repaired by anyone other than an appointed agent
also if it been abused, overused ( industrail application) or installed incorrectly

ParticipantThat’s very true. It’s convenient for them that they can scrub a lot of their commercial risk by being slow to act knowing most people can’t go without their white goods for very long.

Moderatorhaving a workforce ready to react is costly for anyone. no manufacturer can afford to pay this to offer quick service in every case. we also have covid and we dont know how many engineers are isolating etc
they dont want to stop the guarentee but they also cant have unqualified people tampering with their machine and possibly comprimising safetyDave

ParticipantI’m not so sure. They posted profits after tax of 750m Euro last FY. That doesn’t sound like a firm that should be struggling on warranty punctuality.
