Tried to replace a door seal but just cannot fit the inner fixing band.
It’s a wire and spring type and after many attempts I’ve given up.
    Any tips would be helpful.
I’m wondering if a fixing band ( one that has a bolt to pull ends together) from another appliance would do the job?
    Cheers.

Not sure if I’ve done one in the past!
I think some Aqualtis machines used a full coiled spring which may be a bit easier.
I’ve had a similar problem with some Hoover/Candy washing machines that use the same method.
They are impossible to fit and after speaking to a Hoover engineer who confirmed this was advised to use a fixing band from another appliance that you could fit easily and tighten onto the seal.

the hoover ones are not bad its the LG ones I struggle with

One of the LG units has a rubber at the back. The outer drum is fixed and the inner drum moves on a cantilever system so the is a boot at the back. 2 wires and 2 springs both quite heavy plus you have to get it round the suspension. even getting the sides and back off takes ages. Next time i do one i will buy the special pliers

Looks like a job I’d certainly walk away from.

The LG ones are a real pain to do I agree but I have always manged so far taking the front panel off.. The Hoover Candy ones I gave up on and replaced with the wire one with the tightening screw.
