hi guys can someone help me confirm am not losing my mind .. when at this today .no motor action ,so took it all out ,fitted new carbons . one was slightly tight .but i pushed it home i usually sand them a bit . but didnt this time as in bit of a rush .it was moving back /forward a touch . so thought was fine . getting continuity through , comentator . to other brush , so thought fine put it all back , still no motor action . checked plug was in correct ect . fine . with contactless tester power coming down motor plug ..a then tested both ends of motor brushes with multimeter on ac .no power ? ie voltage . a stuck tight brush wouldnt cause that would it ?am thinking the timer . but the motor didnt look to bad . nothing blown .and carbons still had a tiny bit left on them .. help ?

since the timer switches the armature and field to change direction and the triac switches neutral that is the place i would look

may be just a blown track or a bad relay solder joint so always worth a look
