ParticipantCx reported fault was E14
Removed side panels to check for leaks, bad connections and water flow…. tested all ok but found drain hose too far down standpipe, so re-positioned it
Then cx tested it but a different error happened….. On a 29min cycle the “check water” light came on after a minute but continued the cycle it emptied at 14mins then went up ti 18mins and carried on washing until 1min then it flashed E14
On my return today it was fine until 17min then it just stopped with water in the cabinet and half the pressure tank full with 0.00 displayed and the “check water” light on (no leaks)……. pressed RESET it drained fine……. tried a 2nd test – it went to 15min, it did pump the water out this time but stopped while washing and again with the pressure tank half full (both times the machine was silent) and it emptied fine when RESET
I’m really confused, assumimg the pcb is doing weird things but wanted another opinion please?

Moderatordid you check the overflow switch and float in case its warped and operating through vibration

ParticipantHiya Dave – the float system is fine and this model has the full air break with the built-in impeller jug & small pcb, the wires on that are fine and the wheel goes around perfectly ??

Moderatorwell it does sound odd
E14 is flood protection according to owners manual, if this triggered i would expect pump to run and rundoes sound a bit like a software glitch on the board

ParticipantI always thought E14 was the read switch on these BSH machines

Moderatoryou can never assume they keep the same numbers but i suppose you could read it that way if thats what they mean by water protection system

ParticipantThanks for your input guys, I’m positive that the float area and the air break system is working properly.
I’m definitely thinking it’s an error within the board, will have a chat to the customer. …….. ThanksSeptember 6, 2021 at 5:56 am #478826kaibart
ModeratorMight be worth just checking the drain valve I’ve changed a few of them 1st

what do you mean by drain valve
all i can think of is the non return valve in the pump and the anti syphon valve which in this case would be in the heat exchanger

Ah never had it called a drain valve but that normally gives an E19 fault doesn’t it ?
