ParticipantMy new world 90dfdo, model 444447110 main oven is not functioning. The smaller oven is working but the main oven and grill are not. The digital clock is working but no power to the grill, fan/ oven or internal light. I replaced the element last year as it was not working and I replaced the cut off recently as I thought that may have been the problem but was not. Could it be the function switch? the temp switch is ‘clicking’ when turned so I surmise that it is still working. Grateful if the faulty part could be identified from this info. thanks in advance.

Cheers Dave. Clock is working and not displaying “auto”. In your experience, if it is multi switch, can it be repaired or is replacement best solution.

replace only cannot be repaired
if you access and look at it ( do not remove wires ) you should be able to see faulty contact and confirm diagnosis

some ovens have an overheat stat. normally a 2 wire stat mounted on the oven frame somewhere. most of them are round the back but dont know with this cooker

Dave, Christmas is not far off and the Mrs is wanting this oven sorted so I made time to take all apart and have a good root around. I am surrounded by bits of cooker!!!
I suspected the cut off and ordered one but did not work. There are two types though one with horizontal contacts and one with vertical contacts. I tested with a multimeter and got a reading from the horizontal contact type but nothing from the three vertical contact types. This probably sounds stupid, but would a faulty lamp holder disrupt power to the entire Main oven? Thanks, Ed.December 6, 2016 at 12:41 am #442629electrofix

short answer no
are you sure the clock is in manual mode?
when you first turn oven on you have to set the clock and select manual mode before the oven will work

Clock set and sets to manual by default. Auto is not displayed. All points I tested with multimeter seem ok but the bulb housing, along with a blackend earth at the bulb housing which made me suspect it.

Bulb housing gives an erratic reading on multimeter, also.

I don’t know of any clock that defaults to manual so that strange unless the clock does not control oven
what do you mean by erratic reading ?

Sorry Dave, I mean when the power is back on and I set the clock it does not go to auto. Erratic reading I mean it jumps from 20 to 120, 50 to 150 etc.
I want to purchase a part I think (Hope) will resolve, but I can’t seem to locate it anywhere in UK. I would be grateful if you could advise an alternative, it is the thermostat (campini ty60 T210).

before you jump in and guess
join the 2 wires of the stat together. if oven then works your on the right track
the stat could be the cut in stat for the cooling fan

You are right Dave, Connected the wires and no joy. Swapped with similar stat for the smaller oven and same thing. Any thoughts?

if the clock controls the oven my first check would be to check the clock electrically. if it does control it there will be a relay that switches the oven on and off. you need to check its closing. if you post a picture of the rear of the clock will help
