No, rolling eyes Steve. Kinda like the face I have when the wife says she needs me to take out the garbage, mow the lawn, follow her to the bedroom etc, etc… 😉March 13, 2012 at 9:46 pm #370910Madmac

Anyway, to get back on topic, yep, its really dead here too. 4 jobs last week, 2 completed so far this week, Wednesday tomorrow and nothing booked in at all.
Never been as bad 🙁March 13, 2012 at 9:52 pm #370911GPservice

Think people are just forgetting chargeable repairs and going straight online or to the sheds to get the cheapest ? There’s some crazy prices at the moment. And I suppose it’s quarterly bill time, toxic combination

No.
It’s quiet all round and, even with lowered pricing, sales are also low for many and have been for a while now.
Repairs suffer from the. “can I live with it not quite right”, “it’s noisy but it’ll last a bit longer”, “I can just use the static oven not the fan” type things. Unless it’s critical, it can be put off.
Same with replacements.
Warranty repairs also drop as sales do although there is a lag.
But then, if you don’t know if you’ll have a job next month, can you blame anyone for putting off whatever they can?

Been quiet here for the last ten years or so. Had a couple of jobs last month though.

My warrantee work is down but repairs are up. I’m getting a few commercial jobs coming through, mainly fridges (24 in one night club) gave them a fixed rate + materials. And a vaccine fridge in a doctors surgery yesterday. I guess they are shopping around too.

Quiet on the sales front here. Been really busy Jan – Feb but then all stopped in March. Catching up with my accounts and paperwork so no bad thing really, gives me some breathing space.
