How do people feel about the WTA representing it’s effected members regarding working for the new company .
Even if its a collective No.
I am still working through it myself so just wanted opinions .

KeymasterIt would likely be wise to offer.
Whether the offer will be taken up or not is a whole different proposition entirely.

hi Lawrence
It may be a good idea to sound the waters out with them before the meeting in coventry at which we could come up with more of a plan of action.

Might It be an idea to dedicate a couple of hours of the November meeting, to invite MFI Newco and affected independent agents to an arbitration session to try and negociate a way forward.
Wether or not this would be sucessful is any ones guess but it would at least show that the WTA is ready able and willing to support fellow trade members in these troubled times wether they are members of the WTA yet or not.
If we managed to pull a reasonably viable rabbitt out of the hat on this, then the kudos for the WTA would be tremendous and the single biggest recruitment campaign imaginable.
Even if we did not suceed in finding a mutually agreeable plan. at least we would have demonstrated that we at least tried, which is far more than others will do.
Thoughts Gentlemen

You might need to add Antonios’ lot to the bunch.

I agree with the principle, but sadly already we have some that are willing to have a go but others that seem to see it as a lost cause. The other problem is who the hell do we deal with ?Mark Ridlers credibility is shot to bits ,and its proving impossible to get any sense out of them in Welyn .

I wonder if there needs to be a post in the general forum along the lines of “Calling all MFI agents “ telling them of our plans and then see what response we get ,Also we need someone to speak to D&G on the WTA’S behalf –Ian ?you get on well with them and also AIG but how we do that is anyone’s guess

I wonder if they are a lost cause we know they won’t put up there rate through bitter experience
This has to be one of the biggest weekends in the history of white goods ,which has coincided with Debs going away for the weekend and me ending up with one sick daughter and one very bored daughter so I may have missed a couple of things

How are we going to respond to all the questions being asked in the rumour mill ,do we want to reply on behalf of the WTA if so shall we use one person all the time.
I assume some of the people posting are not members as they haven’t popped up in the WTA forum but as Sean said if we help it shows we care ?

I had thought that the purpose of this meeting was to beat the COP business to death. I suspect that we have a days work to do there, in it’s own right. To invite the “new” MFI down to enter into negotiations (or whatever becomes of Servis) is equally likely to be a days work, at least. It’s a worthy sentiment and yes, would be excellent for the WTA membership as well as a first class “news scoop” for us BUT we need to prioritise, and very quickly.
I really don’t think that we can try and do three things at once in an afternoon and a morning.

The COP is our priority for Fri & Sat ,we were also going to try and set budgets .
I wonder if two people are prepared to take up the Cudgels and explore MFI Newco , What seems to be obvious is that a lot of non members are being affected ,so there could be Kudos to be had.
What is certain is that MFI will be expecting everything to be “business as usual” from today .
Which means that we need to run fast with this getting everyone to accept a figure and payment terms ,also we need to know those agents that are in and those that are out .
What about a post on the WTA homepage highlighting the MFI-Kroll situation ?
But back to the Fri-Sat ,As much as MFI affects me ,The COP is our long term future and that has to be our priority on Fri-Sat .
On that note has anyone else started looking at the document

I can’t help with contract work questions; as I’ve never had any contract work or dealings with work providers. Sorry!!
ATM, I’m trying to work through the Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regs (all 50 pages). These TS guys have too much time on their hands. :rolls:
I feel sorry and angry for all the guys caught up in MFI and Servis’ debacle; but I am afraid I do agree with Chris that if these regs I’m looking at now are anything to go by, we have a long day ahead of us on the Friday and Saturday. 🙁Steve.

Hi guys…
Regarding the MFI business, I have to count myself out of this one as I have absolutely NO idea who’s who and what’s what! I do though think that if there were people in that circle, it would be a dandy idea to get something together for those affected. DASA has started something, I tried to log into their forum, to see what’s going on, but I’ve been blocked!……
