Hi Louis
Have you tried either of these on the dealer locator http://www.maytag.co.uk/locator.aspx or failing that then possibly a trip to John Lewis may be on the cards http://www.johnlewis.com/Shops/DShome.aspx if theres one near you 😉

I would go for the Whirlpool, they are of course, better than the Korean ones. As for Maytag, whether they are good quality or not, I sent of for a brochure about 1 month ago, and still haven’t received it, whereas Amana, GE and Whirlpool sent their literature within a few days. I am still waiting for the brochure from Maytag, and would tell me that they can’t be bothered, so I would avoid them, and if the appliance broke down, I wouldn’t dream to imagine what they would be like.

KeymasterAnd all that from a few brochures Adam?
I actually wouldn’t say that the Whirlpool ones were much better, certainly not based on recent experience of the Smeg badged variant, we’ve had a ton of issues with boards and defrost sensors.
But heh, what do I know about refrigeration, I don’t read the brochures.

Of course you guys are more experienced, I’m not disputing that, but one brochure we request from Maytag, and it never gets delivered, just says something about the company. And I remember I sent off for another one, a couple of months before that, have we got it? Nope, hints to me that they can’t be bothered, oh well, tough shame for them we actually liked the look of one of the Maytags, but now, we’d rather not bother.

Participantdidnt u think to look online at all? maytag products are certainly more superior quality than most of the korean machines, although i have to say, my lg has been brilliant
the point is, and always will be, adam, is that because someone doesnt send you a brochure, doesnt make the machine rubbish, does it?
samsung wouldnt bother printing brochures if that was the case!!!

Yes, but it would be nice, if they send potential customers a brochure when they request one from the website. Thats my point.

hi,
just to let you know i won a graded A sov2625 maytag full stainless from ebay for £801.99 delivered.

I know im taking a chance on a graded product but the saving was to good to resist.
the seller said it was around 6months old, comes with a 3 month warrenty and 7 days money back gaurentee.
Hopefully i have a bargain 😀
just out of curiosity what are the main things to go wrong with the maytag sov’s? and anyone know of a engineer/technician for the Leicester Area for future reference.
