ParticipantI have a Samsung RS21FCNS. The water filter indicator came on after use months of minimal use so replaced. Replacement didn’t work either so I powered off the fridge and then on again.
The freezer has settled back to a nice -18 but the fridge stays at 11 or 12 even after 2 more reboots. 16 hours have elapsed.
There are no noises coming (and the water filter isn’t working either)
Thanks – in advance – for any advice.

Hi Ozpeter
You will need to replace the evaperator cover, available from both the shop on line or myself.

🙁 Hi folks, new to this blogging. Had my Samsung RS21 DCNS just over a year. Looks like a common problem, the water dispenser doesn’t work any longer (have already ordered a new filter) and now find that the fridge seems to be cold at the bottom and warm at the top! From other reviews it looks like the drain hole is too small and frosts up, but where is the drainhole???????? Is this something I can deal with myself? Any help would be much appreciated……..especially as the white wine isn’t cold enough! Freezer works by the way. :rolls:

Hi Blacksmith
as above ..
You’ll need a new evap cover available either from myself or the on line shop.

Hi Machineman
The sensor would only normally stop the unit from defrosting, when you have the water tank frozen which is the probable cause of no water being dispensed it points to the insulation failure of the evaperator cover.
Blacksmith, you will find that behind the water tank at the bottom you will have ice forming on the white plastic.
Also blacksmith if your fridge freezer is less than 2 years old then it will still be under samsungs warranty, you will need to provide your receipt and full model number and serial number for the warranty.Call 0870 7267864 (0870 samsung).

Hi Guys, thanks for the help re: changing the evaporator cover. Only trouble is I can’t seem to get past the 4 screws……………HELP!!!!! How on earth can I remove this cover I’m getting really frustrated. I had a look at it the other day and after fiddling with it, the problem had a temporary cure. We had water from the dispenser again and the fridge seemed to get colder…………..only trouble is it only lasted a couple of days hence trying again to remove the evap cover only to find it won’t budge, please, please can someone help. ❓

what a great site! Just taken my evap cover off having experienced noise (& ignoring it!!), then temp flashing at 5, then after re-boot going to 17 odd.
Can you not buy the fan as a seperate part?
Is it likely to be the fan that is the only faulty bit?
What about the thermal fuse? Where is it?
Many thanks

Hi
Cyoules
the fan wont normally be faulty,The evaperator cover will nrmally be needed to be changed, switching off and reseting or defrosting is a short term measure as a get you by.
Sqwitching off and defrosting will NOT cure the fault it will only give you a few days or a couple of weeks freedom.
The thermal fuse would only need to be changed if the defrost system was faulty beacuse of the thermal fuse.

I am also having problems…no water being dispensed, water tank freezing up. warm fridge. An engineer came out two days ago and checked it saying there was nothing wrong except drainage hole needed unblocking. ‘Great ‘I thought, the next day though it all freezed up again. Don’t know what to do now.
