Of course I could accuse them of deception, why couldn’t i?.
When they are saying and listing their trading address which is an old derelict building and as been for the last 15years and prior to that it was a very well known car showroom, so there is no connection with them what so ever, then yes I would say that is deception, could customers call there? Visit the showroom? Drop or pick anything up? Speak to someone directly at the premises? No, so it’s not their trading address is it? It’s just a lie, So they should not be allowed to advertise it as such, it’s false advertising.
I am interested in why you think it is morally ok for the bigger companies to carry on with such practises though.Phil

I’m not aware that I expressed an opinion either way as to their morals? I merely pointed out that there appears nothing wrong with their purpose. There are no morals on the Internet, it’s a bull pit, Christians to the lions, anything goes platform.
You don’t have to be a big company either to sweep away the competition with these tactics. A one man band can run an outfit like this from his back bedroom, it’s that easy.
No there’s no morals out there. 🙁

There is.
There’s just a number of people that don’t have any.

Good Afternoon,
In order to get a free Google Places / Maps listing, the advertiser needs to confirm the address by entering a code that is sent via snail mail to the address from Google. The delivery of this code can take a few weeks. This ultimately means that if any company has a maps or places listing, they can collect mail there. No one can simply pick an address and add it, it doesn’t work that way.
My guess is that the pin marker is slightly out and maybe the actual address is probably a virtual office address somewhere in the vicinity.
Kind Regards
