It may be just the handle you need in that case (hopefully).
Here’s both just in case:
Handle – £3.50
Frame – £9.95Both inc VAT, add £3.50 postage.
If you need them, drop me an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and I’ll sort for you.
Dave.

KeymasterThe saga goes on, fitted the new heater element and the machine does exactly the same thing. I noticed the element is getting warm even when the temp is set to zero, its possible the old element burnt out due to not having enough water in the drum. Think penguin mentioned the heater sensor once ?…still getting the same three flashes of the led any clue’s still struggling.

Check and double check those connections on the temperature probe Jimmy 😉

KeymasterThere’s not much to check, one blue wire connected. Is there a test i can do on the probe?
might be better to fit a new probe as well, how much do they cost? Still think there’s something I’m missing…..is it possible to burn out the element because the water pump runs Continuously.February 2, 2005 at 10:34 pm #124211Dave_Conway

KeymasterHi Dave, had a look for the serial number, found a sticker on the drum , hope this is it.
serial no-17400112800
model – lb2000c.
checked and rechecked the wiring, cannot find any faults with it. Any other idea’s as to what could be wrong with this machine?February 4, 2005 at 12:58 am #124213Penguin45
ParticipantOh Jimmy, what are we going to do about this? Sorry no-ones come back. The trade members are all wanting to tell you gently it’s time to get some help…….. Shame, you’ve done really well so far.
The only comment I would make with regards to your recent efforts is that the temperature sensor should have two (2) wires attached to it in order to complete the circuit. You said that there was one blue attached; the sensor is effectively out of circuit. This will be a fault as far as the computer is concerned……….
The problem with the heater being “On” all the time points again to faulty wiring (connected incorrectly) or the heater relay on the computer board being stuck “on” – possible but unlikely.
I can’t advise you as to the correct wiring, the charts are not available to us mere mortals – there are Indesit/Ariston engineers on the site who may be able to tell you more. If I recall correctly, the wires to the sensor are either red or blue, but very thin. The heavy wires go to the heater.Hang fire and Clyde or Ray may be able to give you some more exact info.

or on the back of the applianceThe connection to the heater probe is 2 thin blue wires going into a little white connector block, Check this block (unless its an older model with 2 seperate connections)

Keymasterok found it the serial no is- 204227567 80235740101.
This must be the older model it has one blue wire and two spade connectors. the machine is only two years old. Still not getting a result with it,the wife’s pushing me to buy a new machine. might not be a bad idea. I’d be looking for something thats basic does cool and hot washes, decent build quality and most of all quiet with no fancy electric’s thank you…any suggestions, cheersFebruary 4, 2005 at 9:37 am #124216admin
KeymasterOk guys, thats it, started moving the heater wire’s about . disconnected the piggyback on the r/h side of the heater and bang, smoke and flames from the circuit board, hold the order for the heat sensor i won’t be needing it. B going looking for a new machine, thanks for all your help it was worth a try
any suggestions on the new machine, I need something that can handle constant use.February 4, 2005 at 9:53 am #124217Dave_Conway

:eeek: :zap:
Order halted Jimmy, except the door bits for the dryer.
Go for a Bosch family or if you can stretch to it, a Miele 😀
