I think you need to get the Qualtex rep in – Jim
He setup the system on my computer, I buy 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my parts from them, they are usually the cheapest when i compare prices.

I installed the Spareslink software myself. It has been fine until a couple of weeks ago, the fact that Martin also has wildly differing prices suggests that something is amiss with the updates.
TBH, I usually have Masterpart & Spareslink open at the same time when compiling an order, I would say that Masterpart beat Qualtex around 60{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time, even though it is only a few coppers sometimes.

That’s wierd because I do exactly the same thing, yet I find roughly the same ratio in Qualtex favour 😕
Makes ya wonder if we’re all buying at the same price dunnit?

The way the spares business works is………
1/ The wholesalers get a preferential discount from the manufacturers because they buy volume.
2/ They then add on their chosen mark-up.
3/ We occasionally get the “special offers” on perceived high value items, or high volume items.
4/ This is because the manufacturers are overstocked or embarrassed about the slagging they get about the quality of parts (Hotpoint thermostats, anyone?).We’re all getting ripped off – I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Drive motors cost £10. Most electronics are between £5 and £15 from the makers. The rest is just profit……….. to the manufacturers. You can’t blame the wholesalers, they do need to make a profit. However, start from the premis that even their purchase costs are allowing the manufacturers a healthy profit and it all makes a perverse sort of sense.
Cynic? Moi?
Just a bit.

Perhaps we should start a “grumpy old men” (in a young looking way of course!) forum?

Perhaps someone from Qualtex might read this thread 😉 and explain why the WMA 1603409 is £119.97 ex vat on my system yet £30.90 ex vat on others and why the Bosch 140867 is listed at £39.42 for me and yet is either £118.50 or even £158.00 ex vat for others. I know there will be small variations and local discounts possibly given but those two examples just dont stack up at all.

Hi Jim
Do you actually think you would get away with ordering that Bosch motor from Qualtex and only pay the price mentioned or do you think the price would be noticed and adjusted accordingly. I guess it would get their attention if you ordered half a dozen of them :).
I could drive down to Manchester to collect it , give you a tenner extra to yourself (plus a bottle of cheap wine) and still make a profit 😆
Sorry , I know it’s a serious and annoying situation when these things happen and it’s too late for me as I’ve ordered it from Masterpart @£129:99+vat.
C’mon Qualtex give us an answer please.
