As has been mentioned a couple of times already, your dispute is solely with Fires & Cookers. Other than making gesture of goodwill, The Indesit Company are not responsible for ‘allegedly’ unscrupulous dealers.

👿 Many months have now passed without any word from Hotpoint and/or Indesit in UK. I think it is high time to pass the problem to Indesit HQ in Italy to see if the company is able to assist in the interest of good public relations………I wonder!!??!!

It has already been mentioned at least twice in this thread, your problem lies solely with Fires & Cookers, it is not a Hotpoint/Indesit problem.

Hotpoint stressed that ‘B grade’ appliances were sold from their factory outlet and were called ‘B grade’ because there was some kind of damage to the appliances.

Hotpoint have told you they are b grade and dont come with warranty so what the hell has it got to do with them.

As mentioned it’s the shop where you bought them from thats at fault.The shop is buying them in from Hotpoint as grade B machines which is quite legal and anyone can do.The shop is then selling it to you saying it comes with full guarantee which is where they are at fault.
You keep on being told the situation after all this time yet you still go on about writing to Hotpoint when it’s nothing to do them them as they have told you grade b appliances are not covered.
It’s the shop thats mis-sold you the appliance.

At first I was assuming the same thing as put forward by cessna, that Fires and Cookers purchased ‘B’ grade goods and sold them as ‘A’ grade online. However, I was surprised to receive another email subsequently from Indesit which implied that the washing machines were ‘A’ grade goods all along.
The content of the email from Indesit is reproduced hereunder for reference.

Paul from the Gas Superstore has asked me to confirm to you that your Washing Machine is in fact an “A” Grade New Machine and comes with a full 12 months manufacturers warranty from the date of Purchase.

I will get a letter out to you on headed paper early next week.

It was very puzzling and would seem to indicate that somehow Indesit was involved in the sale of the substandard goods!!!!!!!!!
