Yes, perhaps not the best time to be investing in new bearing removal kit. On the other hand, I’m always telling my customers to hang onto their WM series Hotpoint or Zanussi Unicycle for as long as possible as their next machine will likely be of inferior quality.

has anyone used this with positive results as im considering ordering one, i work from the back of my house and the noise to remove hotpoint wm’s and wma’s is a bit over the mark for the neighbours as it does take some time to drive the little buggers out! anyone used them for hotpoints with success? are they better than hotpoint red kit for left outershell, and on the subject iv never tryed heat? i take it use a blow torch to apply head to the housing first? any other tips much appriciated as i have a stack of hotpoints to work through in next few weeks, seems quiet reasonably priced kit by the looks of it

I can just picture your back yard full of WMA’s and the constant hammering and banging noises. For a measly 70 quid I’m sure it’s worth you stumping up the funds rather than thumping on your thumbs?

By the way, don’t try heating bearing shells in the hub as it will only get tighter as the steel expands under heat. Freezing the shell however using plumbers freeze spray will have the opposite effect and that extractor tool will whip the bearing out like butter on toast. 😉
