Halfords sounds like a good idea to me Mike.

Got the extractors. £8 the set – this job’s getting expensive already! In a way I hope they don’t quite work so I can try out my other ideas which I’m still brewing.

But consider for another £3.00 you can now stock the bolts and do a 1st time fix the next time around… paying for the tool in one hit.

Kevin, Where can I get two bolts for £3 ❓ as Seme had to make a “special enquiry” of it (= delay, delay) and Connect has them at £2.55 each.
Cheers,

Last one I did, I went to my local “proper” irommongers and bought some rather more substantial ones for about 13p each. Bit of imagination and lateral thinking helps no end.
The extractor kit is an equipment purchase, so is deductible as an expense against you tax bill. Don’t mess about with it, do it right.

Thanks for that Chris, I will remember to lay the machine on it’s side.(Be careful with the lateral thinking when Martin’s around though, he might tell the sheriff 😆 ).
As for deductibles, don’t worry, even a proportion of my internet connection fees go in there and so will the 13p bolts.

Thanks for that agro, had been thinking of using Debor in the hole.
But I may have left it festering too long. Rang customer just now and she’s thinking about new 🙄 . I must have given her a too negative impression of the chances of a successful fix when I first saw the problem.
(Maybe I do need that NVQ module in customer relations). Await the judgement of husband with whom problem must be discussed again.
Good thing I got my call-out charge up front!

So you won’t be taking a complete drum assembly there on your pushbike then? That would have been entertaining to watch 😆

Most awkward thing I’ve had to do on the bike so far is transport a complete Indesit inner drum w. spider 2 miles including through town centre. Couple of bungee cords held it very well to my rear carrier above my tool bags. Thinking I might get my bike signwritten to take advantage of advertising potential.
I have on a couple of occasions used a taxi (charged to customer) to transport a complete drum assy when too little space to work on customer’s premises.
I reckon every mile I cycle saves me 25p on vehicle expenses not to mention the saving in not having a garage. I also get fresh air and exercise which other people pay a gym subscription for. Recent cold weather and heavy rain has tested my resolve but I just don’t feel inclined to give up my economic freedom from the car and oil industries. (A freedom I have enjoyed for three and a half years now).

If you don,t approve of oil companies why not invest in an old LDV and run it on filtered chip shop oil. 😆

Hi EFS,
I think you’ve missed my point. I LIKE fresh air.

Here you go Mike, this’ll solve the bulk problem:

You could probably even get an ISE on there.

Chris. Thanks Chris, that looks super for when I move house.
Actually though I don’t have a problem with bulk. Most of what I need is inside my skull. (Although there are times when it seems a bit gunked up in there) 😉
