Best electric cooker brand?

Hi all
I’m looking for a new Electric fan oven as my current one has just died which is a flavel that I brought in 2013 and has lasted me 8yrs and has been a good oven to me the hobs still work as does the grill so I’m using them while I look for a new cooker but it appears that cooker are not made like they used to and Reading lots of bad reviews on different ones is confusing me on what really is the best. My budget would be £600 I may be able to push to £800 but would prefer to stick to my budget of £600.

I’m looking for a reliable electric cooker that hopefully will last another 8yrs ect? Who are the best electric cookers? I’ve read that beko and Hotpoint are rubbish and that stoves is the best but not sure, I have found this one I like but not sure how good they are?

A few friends have recommended a range master and said they do 60cm one for under £900 and I’ve been told by a few that range master are the best?

Interesting what you say about Hotpoint as we have a HUE61KS that’s six or seven years old (and still appears to be a current model). It’s not as heavy duty as the old Belling we had before it but I can’t really fault it as a cooker. It does everything it should and does it well.

I’ve read their not good as in a lot of bad reviews but I know nothing about cookers so that’s why I wanted to know if their as bad as people say?

fit a lot of Beko cookers for landlords and they are ok for the price

think zanussi /electrolux are better

neff bosch are better again

depends on style of cooker as well if its ranges then rangemaster is ok

In your original pist you mention oven and cooker which to the trade are two different things. You havn’t said if this is a 60cm freestanding appliance you are looking for or a built in oven. My findings below are based freestanding cookers.

So in a nut shell Flavel, Liesure and Beko are all the same company. These are good cookers for the price, spares are reasonably priced and readily available.

Hotpoint and Indesit have the largest range of all and I must admit we sell more of these than everyone else put together. The new range is the best they have produced in some time. Spares and service are readily available.

Zanussi and Belling produce good solid machines but both brands have shrunk dramatically over the last ten years or so but I still like them.

Overall nothing is built or has a long life span anymore price erosion has seen to that. Overall you can’t go far wrong for a Hotpoint all things considered.

Thank you yes I mean a freestanding cooker but keep saying oven.

I also am looking for a 60cm one , I’ve read a lot of reviews saying the same thing about zanussi that theirs trips the electric so not getting bone of those.

I’m between belling and another flavel , a lot of reviews complain about beko being the ones who own flavel and had they known they would never have brought it? Why though what’s wrong with beko? My flavel has been a good oven
I found a flavel and belling I like and I’m assuming belling are the better cookers?

Personally I would stay with the Beko.

what you have to remember these days is appliances are not built for longevity. when i started English Electric was here in Liverpool. They kept spares for their cookers for 25 years, that was their perception of the lifespan of the product. Today you are lucky to get 5 years before some components go obsolete. they cut corners on production to keep costs down to compete in a cheaper and cheaper market place.
Its no wonder appliance fail more often and get bad reveiws. you also have to read between the lines with reveiws. if you have a problem with the product you get online and complain even if the manufacturer is not at fault. Good news on the other hand does not travel as well

most of the bad reviews of the Flavel one were mainly moaning about their being no grill handle on the inside or something like that well my current one doesn’t and that’s never bothered

we’re the belling one a few say it completely died after a few months

The bad reviews for the Flavel we’re not as bad as the belling
anyone know why so many people have an issue with Beko though?

So many reviewers say had they know flavel is just a beko they would never have brought but I want to know why? Why is their this issue with Beko?

Online reviews!! Everyday in the shop I get “on the internet it says …….” 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time what is read is untrue. My response is ” do you believe everything you read in the papers?” Usually the answer is ” no of course not”
Then there are fake reviews, cash or products for reviews and even disgruntled ex employees giving poor reviews.

Reviews can be a good guide but research, research and some more will weedle out the good from the bad.

Very true I don’t believe half of what’s in the newspapers , I agree research is key which is why I wanted to ask here for another opinion

So I’m thinking of sticking with flavel who I am happy with based of my experience with my current cooker

if yours is not an integrated appliance you will get a 12 month warranty with Flavel but with Bosch you get 2 years

Research is the key.
one of the other problem with reviews is most people post not long after they buy it. For all we know they have no end of problems after that and unless they update the review you will never know
