I use a large toolbox that has wheels on it( don’t know the make), half price from focus at £15, fits absolutely everything i need into it plus as the toolbox separates into two i can use it to barricade myself into place to stop dogs sniffing my arse 😯 or customers who think it’s a good idea to try and be your apprentice but get in the way and then argue with your diagnostic, i’m sorry am i ranting? bad day

I found this to be an interesting thread until the above was posted.
It’s such a pity that the thread has been dragged down to stereo typing insults.
There are some extremely bad independants out there, doesn’t make them all bad does it? So why apply it to BG or anyone else?
I work for British Gas, I take pride in my work and take great care of peoples property.Brian My sincerest apologies if my remarks caused you any offence, those remarks were tongue in cheek. However when I sited the parts issue that was based on real fact as a neighbour nearby has a BG contract and reckons its a complete watse of money, she has waited on two occassions for engineers to return weeks apart with what should be common place parts only to find that the parts still did not correct her problems. I am sure that you as an indivdual take pride in your work and that you yourself have no control of issues of parts being supplied.
Domestic Service Engineers normally have a great sense of humour, ( it seems to be a pre requiste of the job ) sorry if you cold not see the funny side.Peace.

I needed one recently after my last B n Q canvas one started to look tatty. Back to B n Q and got one of the Stanley tool bags with all the screwdriver and tool slots on one side behind elasticated retainer.
Whatever you do don’t be tempted. The tools are pushed out of the slots as soon as you close the bag. Its nigh on useless for keeping stuff tidy, so thanks for the links lads 🙂TC

Guys: What’s the problem with BG engineers?? From what I saw when contracting to them, yes they have some bad engineers but they also have some bloody good & skilled engineers.
The other thing is which of you can say hand on heart that all the independents are good ? I know i sure can’t.Andy.

I use the Stanley FatMax tool bag.
Cost £24.00 but really useful, lots of internal straps and external pockets.

Not quite that mobile, but noticed halfords have a £150 tool and toolchest for £50.
Useful if only for a workshop back up, the actual tools are ok, bit cheap but youd struggle to get the toolchest for less than £50…

I have always used the ABS type tool cases, the latest one I’ve had about a year made by Parat and it’s been great, still looks great and has taken some serious use
