Connect showing £21.71 to me. These Brushes are an outrageous price.
Bosch must be making a fortune. Not seen a pattern brush yet that I would feel confident fitting. Was getting these brushes for £11.99 last summer if I brought 30 sets at a time but now the price has virtually doubled 😥

You obviously don’t have a trade account with BSH then. Like Mark I pay just £19.24 which in the grand scheme of things ain’t a bad deal in this day and age. This time next month the price of them could double for all I know but they certainly won’t get any cheaper!
Connect’s price speaks volumes to me though. :rolls:

Problem is, just a carbon brush change with an acceptable, but not great, profit margin on the part is now approaching £90. Customers who used to own Hotpoints and the like are assuming we are ripping them off and making huge profits on the parts.

Well to call out and fix a Bosch that’s done several tons of washing over a 5 or 6 year period and only requires £90 or £100 spending on it to put it right isn’t ripping anyone off at all!
You could always point out the even higher prices the manufacturers would charge to do the same repair?
Many one man bands around the country do these repairs for half those prices by fitting inferior pattern brushes so all the while there is a cheaper option if that becomes an issue by doing the same.
I fear this will raise the pattern v’s genuine issue even more? But at least we in the trade do have choices as to which route to take in order to satisfy our customers.
We lean on the pattern manufacturers more and more these days and thank our lucky stars for that I say. Genuine parts will continue to go through the roof across the whole spectrum as raw materials go up year on year. We ain’t seen nothing yet! :rolls:

I don’t think raw material prices have much bearing on what we pay for parts. A set of carbons probably only costs a few pence to manufacture.

With these Bosch brushes now becoming so expensive is it not time that a pattern part manufacturer got their act together and produced a good quality alternative to these over priced genuine brushes.
The pattern ones that I have seen are physically a poor fit making it impossible to remove one as part of a service check.
Also are there good and bad grades of carbon.
