Anybody any ideas, this machine will complete the wash cycle but when it gets to the spin cycle, 12mins is displayed and it starts to countdown, but when it gets to 8mins left it skips to 1min and finishes. I’ve checked everything, I’m looking at the main pcb. The problem is that the customer tells me that it does sometimes complete the spin cycle????? Just wondering if anyone has come across anything like this before. Help!!! Anyone.

Motor brushes are the most likely source of the problem coupled with high earth leakage potential of the armature/brush housing. But also a must to check (with a Megger of course) is the state of the heater?

Checked motor brushes – ok no problems there. I ran the m/c in spin 3 times each time it counted down to 8mins – then it went to max revolution 1300 in this case and skipped to 1min and duly finished. It did the exact same thing each time no variable wahtsoever. ???? I’m still looking at the pcb. I think I’ve checked everything at this stage unless any of you knowledgable people have any better ideas…. 😳

That’s a lot of money to fork out. If it doesn’t cure the problem you won’t be able to send it back. Unless one of the board reconditioners (http://www.emwelec.co.uk or http://www.qer.biz) can help then I’d pass the customer on to Bosch. (I’m assuming you’re self employed.) Chances of ever needing a board for one of those again are slim. Bosch will probably quote him an arm and a leg so the machine will end up as scrap but at least you’ll keep your money and some of your sanity.

Thanks Mike, yes I know I’m dreading what the price is going to be like. I don’t think my customer is going to go there. Yes I’m sluggin it all on my own.

    Thanks again

Looks like there are two boards, power and control. £82 and £47 respectively.
go here and tap in the model no.
Might be a connection issue between the two?

I had a similar fault a year or so ago, I had been to replace the brushes then got galled back because the count down timer was skipping from 8 or 9 mins to 1 min remaining.
Some helpful UKW bod suggested stripping the armature out of the motor dowsing with WD40 cleaning the commutator and rebuilding. It worked a treat.
Hope that helps, worth a try before forking out for modules. 😉
