Interesting, were both part numbers listed for the model you were working on?
Any idea what the difference is between the two pumps?

no, not from BSH but it is on some other sites, UKW store included (model sms40C02gb/18) + others have said they have fitted them without issue so I gave it a go at a time when there were no reasonably priced 651956 in stock and the only difference seemingly being this “care product” Physical size is the obvious difference.
oddly, no complaint on wash performance- just the drying.April 13, 2018 at 1:03 pm #454493Twoten

I don’t understand why it would make a difference with the drying unless the NTC is built into the heat pump and sends back a different resistance preventing the water from getting hot enough to dry.

we know that Dave, Twoten was suggesting they may be calibrated differently hence not heating as hot as it should…. doesn’t seem to have affected wash performance though. Maybe this customer is one of those who rinses everything almost clean anyway so may not notice. Will take some resistance measurements when I get a chance.
