Lets rewind on this situation so far then if I may?….”It fills the matrix once” you say?….Bearing in mind the matrix on this machine serves enough water to complete a wash sequence and that once that amount of water is “dumped” into the tub, will suffice to do the job. So (as Nomadpaul states) that amount of water should show up to the salt cap lid at least.
My question at this stage therefore is…How much water ends up in the tub prior to the circulation pump firing up?

The water only fills the well where the filter sits. Nowhere near the salt cap.

When the motor cuts in no more water enters the machine?

There is no valve on the heater, there is a coil that operates a lever which is under the heater box, looks like the turntable motor from a microwave.
Its a common problem and until you check it, I feel we are goin to fall out. :rolls:
The second fill will only happen when the water level drops thanks to the circ motor starting, if the motor starts but no second fill its because the blockage in the heater is preventing the water pressure dropping.
Check the bloody heater box for blockage or faulty gate/motor.
😆
I could be completely wrong though. 😉

Then the inlet valve must be at fault. This model has a huge combined water matrix and heat exhanger clamped to the side of the tub and after the drain pump stops the inlet valve fills that matrix up to overflowing and into the tub. Only then does that circulating pump fire up and with no more water required the pressure switch microswitch shuts the dump valve off.
